The Call for Papers is now open for the next International Kodály Symposium, to be held in Cork, Ireland, from 4 to 8 August 2027.

Submissions are invited for spoken papers, practice-based presentations, workshops, panel discussions, and poster presentations. Full details are available on the Symposium website: https://www.ikssymposium2027.com/.

Submissions close 11 October 2026.

Australian Kodály-inspired music education practice and research is highly respected internationally. Many in our community have served the International Kodály Society (IKS), including our founder, Dr Deanna Hoermann (the first IKS President), Judy Johnson (IKS Vice President from 1995-2003) and Dr James Cuskelly OAM (current IKS Immediate Past President).

I encourage all Kodály Australia members to continue this strong tradition of engagement with the IKS community by attending or presenting at the Symposium.

Please note that current IKS membership is required to attend or present. Membership can be purchased through the Kodály Australia Member Portal.

For those seeking an opportunity closer to home, do not forget our own Kodály Australia Conference in Adelaide from 28 September to 1 October 2026. The program is shaping up to be an outstanding event, and I look forward to seeing you there.

With best wishes

Jason Boron
President
