Why singing? Everyone has a voice, and learning to use the voice in songs and rhymes means music and its benefits are accessible to everyone, without the demands of learning an instrument. Singing develops an inner musicality – hearing the sound inside yourself before you sing it.
The value of games: Music is both memorable and meaningful as children have fun singing the songs, and playing the games. Games promote equity, and provide an opportunity for both group and solo turns in a supportive atmosphere. Through games, children learn happily and unconsciously in a relaxed environment. The repetition inherent in the process makes for an ideal learning environment.
