NSW Armidale: Music Matters Workshop 2014

This workshop is for community singers, school students years 9-12, Uni students, music teachers (primary & secondary), early childhood teachers, studio teachers, conductors, and anyone else who wants to improve their skills in music. All participants will develop their skills in musicianship, teaching methods (primary and secondary), choral conducting and strategies for singing.
Why should I come? The Kodaly workshop is for community singers, school students year 9-12, Uni students, music teachers (primary & secondary), early childhood teachers, studio teachers, conductors, and anyone else who wants to improve their skills in musicianship, teaching methods (primary and secondary), choral conducting and strategies for singing.
Reka Csernik and Maree Hennessy’s combined passion for music, ability to enthuse and to affect learning in students of all ages and abilities, plus their commitment to excellence in music teacher training, means they are in constant demand as teachers nationally and internationally
PRESENTERS:
- Reka Csernik is one of Australia’s foremost choral experts in choral conducting pedagogy and aural musicianship, She earned her Masters degree in Music Education from the world renowned ‘Ferenc Lizst’ of Music in Budapest and has taught music at every level of education, with wide experience in school and at university level. Reka is the director of Brisbane based Sola Voce Chamber Choir and the Choir of St Andrew’s Lutheran Church Brisbane.
- Maree Hennessy (Dip Teach, BEd, MMus) is an experienced teacher and lecturer in Music education having worked in Early Childhood, Primary, Secondary and Tertiary contexts. Maree is a classroom teacher at Somerville House and is past president of KMEIA Queensland. Maree returns to Armidale for the second time to present workshops and continues to lecture at the Summer Music Program in Brisbane each year.
REGISTRATION, TIME & COST:
- Registrations (from 8:30 am Saturday) includes lunch and morning/afternoon tea
- Closing dates for registration Friday 3rd October
- Saturday 4th, 9:00 am -4:30 pm (including breaks)
- Sunday 5th, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
- Earlybird available until 17th September: Adults $75 per day/$150 both days / Students $35 per day / $60 both days
- Standard rate after 17th September Adults $85 1 day / $165 both days / Students $40 1 day / $75 both days
- What to bring: Your voice! A notebook and a pencil
