Rosalie is passionate about sharing Kodály’s philosophy with colleagues and students alike. She is currently working in regional Western Australia at John Paul College and the International School of Music\, Kalgoorlie. \nAn Australian Kodály Certificate accredited lecturer in Primary and Secondary Music Pedagogy with an interest in the transformational power of Music Education\, Rosalie welcomes every opportunity to engage with colleagues in sharing ideas and expertise across all areas of Music Education. \nAndrew Pennay \n \nAndrew Pennay is Director of Creative Arts at Brisbane Girls Grammar School. He has lectured in music education at a tertiary level and presented nationally and internationally on popular music education\, musicianship\, upper secondary teaching methodology\, and teaching for creativity and curiosity. \nFor 12 years\, he was a performer and Assistant Conductor with The Australian Voices\, touring new Australian choral music globally. Andrew has received a National Award for Excellence in School Music Education (2011) and an Award for Excellence in Australian Kodály-inspired Music Education (Innovation) in 2022. He is currently undertaking doctoral studies in songwriting pedagogy. \nMaree Hennessy \n \nMaree is a recognized educational leader\, professional development facilitator\, and mentor with extensive experience in teaching and leadership in schools\, in early childhood\, higher education\, and in community settings. \nMaree is a lead facilitator for Kodály education teacher training courses in Australia\, South Africa and New Zealand. She currently teaches at Brisbane Boys’ College (Brisbane) in the Music Every Day program. \nMelissa Mason\n \nMelissa Mason is a Primary Music Teacher at Dayton Primary School\, where she teaches Kindy Year 6 and runs a Junior and Senior Choir. Melissa also co-conducts the Smalley ensemble of Western Australian Young Voices (WAYV) and teaches piano students after school. She has completed Primary 1-3 and Secondary 1 AKC levels and is deeply passionate about promoting best practice in music education \nSession Title: Making Learning Stick: Merging Kodály and Weekly Review for Musical Mastery \nFreya Petersen \n\nFreya Petersen studied viola performance before beginning her music education training. She attended the Kodály Institute in Hungary and completed her Australian Kodály certificate training in Primary Music Education in Perth and Brisbane. Freya teaches Early Childhood and Primary music and Strings at St Mary’s AGS. \nSession Title: Pocketful of Posies \n  \nAshleigh Slater \n \n  \nAshleigh Slater has worked in secondary music education for more than a decade\, with extensive leadership experience in Australia and the U.K. After recently returning from London\, she has taken up the post of Head of Performing Arts at Prendiville Catholic College. She enjoyed many years as a Kodaly classroom music education specialist across both primary and secondary schools before lecturing in Kodaly methodology for Kodaly Victoria and Kodaly NSW. Allison spent many years lecturing in choral conducting\, aural training and music education at tertiary institutions including Victoria’s Monash University and Melba Conservatorium and Queensland’s University of Technology. She is active in the promotion and development of Australian choirs and quality music education and has fulfilled committee roles for Kodaly Victoria and the Australian National Choral Association. Allison is a sought after guest choral conductor and respected clinician and adjudicator at festivals and eisteddfods nationwide. She is particularly proud of her role in commissioning and premiering more than thirty new choral works to add to the body of Australian choral music. Allison has enjoyed creating numerous recordings of Australian choral music and many international tours as both choral accompanist and conductor. Upon moving to Sydney from Melbourne\, she served as Director of Choral Education at Gondwana Choirs and continues her long association with this organisation through leading choirs at National Choral School. Allison has proudly served as the Musical Director of Choirs at SCEGGS’ Darlinghurst for the past twelve years and the co-conductor of the NSW Arts Unit’s Senior Singers since 2024. Her freelance work this year includes presenting for teacher professional development programs run by the Australian Youth Orchestra and Sydney Symphony Orchestra.

DESCRIPTION:Celebrated Kodály music educator Tess Laird (Queensland) will present this comprehensive workshop focusing on engaging learning strategies and repertoire for Years 4-8. \n \nThis workshop is a must for any music educator in classroom or community settings working with young people in the midst of developmental transition.
